Im Hof der Galerie befindet sich eine Platane, deren Äste erst über dem Dach des Gebäudes ansetzen. Vom Boden aus wird der Stamm des Baumes bis zur Dachkante mit Kokosfaserstrick einghäkelt. Die unterste Lage der Äste wird ebenfalls mit der Häkelstruktur bedeckt, die in ihrer Gleichmäßigkeit und Variation in ein Wechselspiel mit der Rindenstruktur der Platane tritt.
Die kubische Form des Innenhofes wird nun durch den bearbeiteten Teil des Baumes ergänzt und abgeschlossen.
Der Teil des Baumes, der sich innerhalb der Architektur des halböffentlichen Raumes der Galerie befindet, wird mit einer künstlichen, humanen Stuktur überzogen. Was darüber hinaus ragt, theoretisch wieder für die Öffentlichkeit einsehbar ist, bleibt in seinem natürlichen Zustand.

FUNAMBOLO

In the courtyard of the gallery grows a sycamore tree. The branches start just above roof level. I “en-crochet” the tree-trunk from the ground up to the roof-level with the coconut fibre. The lower layer of branches is also covered with the crochet structure, which in its regularity and variation forms an interplay with the bark-texture of the sycamore tree.
The modified part of the tree now functions as an extension and a completion of the cubic form of the courtyard.
The part of the tree that is inside the architecture of the semi-public space of the gallery is covered by an artificial, human structure. What protrudes remains in its natural state.
